Places

If you come to Boyacá, you will visit many wonderful parks, villages and a lot of tourist destinations. For example:

Villa de Leyva: is a colonial town, which is located at 40 km of Tunja. Villa de Leyva is one of the most beautiful places in Boyacá, also there are too much festivals like: Astronomy festival, Water festival, Tree festival, Gastronomic festival, etc.


Paipa: is a town where you can swim in “Sochagota Lake” also you can enjoy hot springs and natural beauty of the forest.


Tota's Lake: is one of the most important lakes in South America. It has three tiny islands: San Pedro, Cerro Chiquito and Santa Helena. It also has a beautiful beach, name “Playa Blanca.” There, you will practice water sports.



La Sierra Nevada del Cocuy: In this park you will several mountains and high peaks covered with snow. There are 300 lakes and 80 rivers.



Raquira: It name comes from the Chibcha's language and it means “City of Pots”. This place is consider as one of the most beautiful towns in Boyacá because of the colorful houses also it seems like a town of Middle Age. Likewise Raquira's handicrafts are so popular.
